Recycling facilities in the Boston area must be enclosed by a fence providing a shielded view from the street, as well as be at least eight feet high with a gated entrance. The city of Boston has developed regulations specific to the fencing project. Some fences are often required to be open wire or a chain link. Other Boston projects forbid hardware cloth, barbed wire or chicken wire for fencing.
