Boston Fences

Fences
If a lot or yard in the city of Boston is used for something forbidden in an adjacent district, the property must be screened by a concealing fence or wall or be landscaped. The design of the fencing or landscaping must be approved by the design section of the Boston Redevelopment Authority. The fencing or wall must be properly maintained thereafter. Recycling facilities in the Boston area must be enclosed by a fence providing a shielded view from the street, as well as be at least eight feet high with a gated entrance. The city of Boston has developed regulations specific to the fencing project. Some fences are often required to be open wire or a chain link. Other Boston projects forbid hardware cloth, barbed wire or chicken wire for fencing.
