If you are a Boston resident, you have the opportunity to obtain free paint at the city's Swap Shops. With proof of Boston residence, you can take home or drop off a variety of interior and exterior paints and stains for free. Paint and motor oil are not accepted from commercial Boston businesses. All labels must be legible and all containers with paint, stains, varnishes, or thinners must be original. The city of Boston will not accept evaporated paint or mixing paints.
